A FUN part of the Peanut Festival is our annual Folk Play; this year’s performances will be September 22nd and September 23rd at 7:30 p.m. at the Plains High School Museum auditorium.

Each year Kim Carter Fuller, daughter of Sybil and Billy Carter, writes our Folk Play.  Kim is a teacher with the talent to write and a great imagination, but when you live in Plains who really needs one.  Telling the tales of living in a small rural town with a former President and our visitors, many who are famous, gives Kim more than enough to write about.

This year will be the directing debut of Kim’s daughter, Mandi Fuller.  She is studying drama and we look forward to seeing what she does with our local talent.  Of course, the same is true of our talent, who really needs directing?  We have some great folks in Plains who put their heart and soul in the play each year.  Their hours of practice will leave you rolling in the aisle.

Every year Brother Dan writes original music for the play.  The last time I checked he told me he was almost finished with the music.  How about those lyrics Dan?  Well I’m sure he will be ready in time for the Play!

During intermission we even serve bottled Coca Colas and peanuts.  Now that’s a true southern folk play!  Make your plans to attend, you won’t be disappointed.
